The Support Boat
Littlefish is a twenty-six foot customized Pahi Tiki Roa sailing catamaran designed by James Wharram. She is the base camp for this expedition. She provides comfortable areas to bask in the sunshine or hide out in the shade. Her decks and hammocks for chilling and relaxing are what set her apart from the other small ocean crafts in our neighborhood. She is the life blood of the trip, carrying water, food, and everything you will need to make the most of these voyages.
On day one, you will take control of a sixteen foot Hobie Cat which will become your home for the next thirty days. You will get very comfortable with your boat and will learn to tune into the boat’s needs as you work your way through this mini expedition.
The small sixteen foot beach catamarans are customized for learning to sail and exploring these coastal waters. They are your means of traveling and experiencing the Virgin Islands. They are rugged little rascals and will bring the excitement of the ocean to your heart as well as calmness and tranquility. They are rigged up for camping and will be your tiny home away from home.
The magic behind immediately getting put into the position of captain is that it hands you the opportunity to take ownership of your own learning.
If you truly love to push the ADVENTURE in your adventure traveling, you will be good as gold on this trip. The Littlefish Expedition is really something unique and different. However, please be honest with yourself. You must be very adventurous and quite outgoing.

Sleeping Accommodations
If you already know how to set up a tent in the mountains…you’re really gonna fit into this sailing life. These expeditions are targeted towards those who feel more comfortable with the flexibility that a simple tent and sleeping bag can bring with their unique ability to allow you to be on the go, finding yourself tuned into the moon, stars, and natural environment.
Toys
Bottom line, we love to play in the water. In addition to the little beach catamarans, Littlefish has a Mary Poppins way of pulling out a seemingly endless supply of surfboards, wing foil gear, paddle boards, and snorkeling equipment. She holds the toys to play in whatever conditions present themselves along the way.
Gear
Safety and relative comforts in the elements are priorities on all Littlefish Expeditions. Lifejackets, helmets, drybags, headlamps, a first aid kit, Starlink, and a Jackery power bank are examples of gear provided. If it is not provided by us, you can be sure that it will be on your packing list.
Guides
These expeditions are designed with the goal of providing you with an opportunity to explore a new place, learn new skills, and try sports that are outside your area of expertise. As expedition leaders and friends, we will provide sailing instruction as well as the knowledge, safety, and guidance for all travel details and activities.
Meals
It is our pleasure to provide simple, delicious, home-style meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner during the course of your stay. These meals are included in the cost of your expedition. There will be plenty of opportunities to support the local restaurants, watering holes, little organic farms, local farm stands and other small businesses along your travels.
Cost
The cost of joining an expedition is $200 per person per day.
It is the goal of Littlefish Expeditions to raise the funds to provide scholarships to cover up to 50% of the expedition costs for 100% of the participants involved.
